Our family spent some time at Goose Cove, in Stonington, Maine this summer. We went last summer and have been looking forward to going again. Rebecca and Addison were there and her friend Katie and her family came for a few days. We played on the beach, climbed on the rocks, played games, and ate lobster and muscles (Mike and Rich plucked the muscles out of the ocean themselves.) My parents were really helpful with the babies so Becky and I had a little freedom. Rich was tireless with the boys. They were always up to something, hiking, kayaking, swimming, biking. The ocean was beautiful but unfortunately there was a lot of trash on the beach. Count on Rich to make lemonade out of lemons. He and Bryan decided to make boats out of the trash and broken buoys. Nathan and Carson made little boats and were delighted to see them ride the waves. When they were finished, Rich paddled them out in the kayak and raced them back to shore. I am so glad my boys have such a great dad! We took so many pictures that I decided to put them in a slide show. Enjoy.

Nathan Turns Seven
Nathan turned 7 years old on August 10. I can't believe how fast the time flies. He had a great birthday with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents. We played bad mitten and had water balloon fights. Nathan's favorite gifts were a new bat and baseball cards. Here are seven reasons to love Nathan.
1. He is kind to others.
2. He is passionate about sports.
3. He has beautiful brown eyes.
4. He hates to see his brothers sad.
5. It is easy to make him laugh.
6. He goes to bed easily.
7. He is a good example to others.

Dan and Alicia's Wedding
My brother Dan and his fiance Alicia were married in the Boston Temple on August 8, 2008. It was a beautiful day for a wedding. The little girl is Alicia's daughter. Now Dan is a dad! He is a very good step dad. Juliette calls him Papa.
After the wedding and pictures, we ate at the Macoroni Grill.
Jack started a nursing strike the day of the wedding; which was horrible timing. I wasn't able to get him nursing again. So we are done. I cried for two weeks but now I feel okay with it. Looking at this picture now I can see that he has lost weight in the last three weeks.

More About Camp
I realize that I am horrible about writing in my blog. Usually, I am in such a hurry so I only have time to post the pictures. I would like to tell you a little more about our trip to camp.
We started our vacation going to Story Land in Glenn, NH since it is kind-of sort-of on the way to camp. A whole day at a crowded children's theme park in the baking sun with a nine month old is not my idea of fun. And the tea cups... need I say more? The things I will do it for the kids and for Rich. (Rich loves these trips with the kids. He is already trying to talk me into the fair. Ugh!) Rich was disappointed that they wouldn't try the log flume. We made it through the day and the boys had a blast. After stuffing everyone in the car with a turkey sandwich, we were on our way to camp. We arrived at bedtime and were happy to see that Dad and Bryan were already there. While we were unpacking Rich asked me how I enjoyed Story Land. He was shocked at my response that I thought it was complete misery.
The first two days at camp were beautiful. We went swimming, boating and tubing. We took the boat all the way to the end of the lake. It took about an hour round trip. The kids were with me and my parents. By the time we stopped, they were both asleep. The rocking of the waves was too much for them. My dad is new to boating and his boat is way too big. So he came coasting up to the dock to let us out. I decided that I should be the one to take charge, so I jumped off onto the dock and grabbed hold of the boat. Well, the boat was going a little too fast but I was trying to pull it back with all my might. Before I knew it, the boat had taken me with it and I was dangling over the lake. I had to drop in, fully clothed. Ahh!
The kids were terrified to go tubing, and understandably so, as they have watched the adults get whipped around on the waves. So I had to bribe them. I promised a handful of gummy bears for anyone who dared get in the tube. It worked like a charm. Of course they loved riding in the tube.
A considerable amount of our time was spent playing our favorite game, Settlers of Catan. My father recently purchased the expansion pack so more can play. This was very exciting. During one game, things got heated and Rich knocked over his huge glass of water all over the board and cards. He was horrified. We tried to dry it out but some of the pieces are bowed. We have to hold them in place with rocks. Ugh.
Having a baby at camp is not much fun. After four days I was more than ready to leave. Jack wanted to crawl so bad but the floor was dirty with everyone coming in and out. If I did let him roam, he was into the dog dish or eating something gross.
We saw two moose and a fox on this trip. Rich was really frustrated with the kids when we saw the first moose. They were watching a movie on the DVD player and weren't too interested in the giant moose. So, on the way home the movie didn't come out until we were out of the deep woods. We are so grateful to have this camp, a great family, and all the memories.
